Italiano Vino Rosso: 100 Point Perfection
Saturday, October 13th, 2007A recent issue of Wine Spectator carried important advice for those serious about Italian reds…Brunello di Montalcino remains a special favorite of the magazine’s experts. The two wines, each selected for their perfect 100 score, were from the estates of Casanova di Neri (Cerretalto) and Valdicava (Madonna dei Piano Reserva). Both wines were of the ’01 vintage and each retails for over $145 per bottle (that is if you can get it.) This month Wine Spectator’ s cover story was devoted to this hot new Tuscan vino; it is an issue worth grabbing as it covers not just the best Brunello wines but also the restaurants, hotels and wine estates that populate the Montalcino area.
